We have the title, the tooling, and the conference track. We do not yet have shared standards for what good looks like.

Five years ago, detection engineering was a side quest for senior SOC analysts. Today it is a job title with its own tooling vendors. The maturation is real and overdue.
What is still missing is a shared definition of quality. Without it, two teams using the same words mean entirely different things.
